Elder - Steve Petersen

Steve understood his need for Jesus at six years old. Through influence of a Vacation Bible School at his grandfather's church, he put his faith in Christ's work on the cross. He grew up in a Christ-centered home, which was a huge blessing on his life. Their family traveled to Costa Rica, then Lima, Peru, as Steve's parents served the Lord as missionaries with the Evangelical Free Church. They later moved to Miami, FL where he finished high school. It was there, through the influence of a Christian friend, that Steve felt the Holy Spirit prodding him to make his faith his own. And it was then Steve started his journey toward maturity.
Steve moved to the Angora, NE to pursue a life of ranching. first with his uncle and grandpa and now with his own place. With the help of neighbors, he makes his living around cows. Steve met his wife Spring in 2003 and they were married in 2004. They have three children. Steve loves to be around people (and cows), help lead worship with his wife and be outdoors. He currently serves as our Awana Commander and has a passion to lead and encourage believers to own their faith. |
